Drama and peace are joined in this elemental
composition. A boat beached; the net hung to dry; the lake
stretching to mountains of the distant shore,and the sky uniting all;
simple elements of peace are set in
a dramatic design of contrasts. From 1969 to
1974, Sandler lived and painted in such a place, with industry
and inspiration. Working then mostly in aqueous
media,
Drying Net is one of the few oils of this period.
