Air and light fill the breadth of this
big, little picture. Soft rose tones
open the upper sky and deepen as they
alternate with the neutral violet clouds
near the low horizon. A tree stands white
against the darker tones, establishing the
scale of the landscape. The tree, a
remarkable detail, proves to be a natural,
small branch, pressed into art.
